Susanne McDonald is an actor, writer, director, producer and a senior at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Theater and a minor in Creative Entrepreneurship. For the past four years she has trained and focused on devising theater, or creating theater from scratch. In 2018, Anti-Play, the 2020 Contemporary Theater ensemble, devised Displaced: A Response to Qurban which went on to win three awards at the Kennedy Center American College Festival including The Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award. In 2019, Anti-Play devised and went on tour to the Orlando Winter Mini-Festival with their production of The Bald Soprano directed by David Gammons. During the fall of 2019, Susanne was able to graduate with a diploma in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
Although she has been trained in theater, film is what inspired her to pursue theater. Now, after casting and acting in a few short films she is excited to begin focusing on both film and devising theater. She is eager to make films that inspire and move people to discover different perspectives and to take action to better themselves and the world around them. As of January 2020, she is represented in the Southeast by the Coastal Talent Agency in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
